SIV (Emerging) Fund
Investments will provide exposure to emerging companies that are listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, with an enterprise value of between $10m and $500m at the time of investment. The portfolio looks to hold higher quality companies, with solid earnings momentum at a reasonable valuation.
Particular attention is given to the underlying quality of company earnings, industry structure and management with an aim to limit downside risk.
Selected managers for this fund are Macquarie Australian Emerging Companies Fund and NovaPart Microcap Fund. Both have a record of value-adding, achieving returns that are above the market.
SIV (Balancing) Fund
The core Balancing Investments are in property and can represent up to 58% of your total SIV Program investment. HS Capital focuses on property assets in prime sectors of the Australian market including direct property, direct property developments, and listed property. Combining asset classes in a diverse portfolio gives more risk-adjusted returns.
5-15% of investments will be focused on Australian direct property. This is the acquisition of existing property in the industrial, office, retail, childcare and healthcare sectors; while 15-45% will be focused on the development of new property in these sectors.
A further 5-40% will be invested primarily in Australian Real Estate Investment Trusts (A-REITs), stapled property securities and investment companies whose only or main investments are in property. This component of the investment will provide short and medium-term liquidity while maintaining exposure to the Australian property market.
Venture Capital Solution
The majority of investments will be in Australian-based private equity funds that, in turn, are focused on investing in lower to mid-market companies headquartered in Australia.
Investments will be targeted at companies with an enterprise value of between $25m and $250m at the time of investment. The aim is to fund later-stage growth as this presents a lower risk profile than seed capital and early-stage investments.
Managed by Vantage Asset Management, a specialised Private Equity Fund manager with over 15 years of experience and over $300m in funds under management across four fund-of-funds.
